Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Kiwi

How does Kiwi build my wardrobe?

You photograph your clothing items and Kiwi analyzes each photo using Gemini, Google's AI. It extracts details like item type, color, material, and style, then organizes everything into your personal digital closet. The more items you add, the more complete and useful your wardrobe becomes.

How are outfit suggestions generated?

Kiwi combines knowledge of your actual wardrobe with context from your day: the weather, your calendar, and your learned style preferences. Your AI stylist (powered by Claude) pulls all of this together to suggest complete outfits made entirely from clothes you already own.

Does Kiwi learn my style over time?

Yes. Every time you interact with your AI stylist, Kiwi updates a personal memory that captures your preferences, the items you gravitate toward, and patterns in how you describe your style. Over time, suggestions become more accurate and more personal to you.

What data does Kiwi store about me?

Kiwi stores your wardrobe photos, extracted item data, conversation transcripts with your stylist, your style preferences, and a learned memory of your taste. Everything is stored securely in Google Cloud and is tied to your account. You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete it at any time by emailing privacy@kiwifits.com.

How do I get started?

Download Kiwi from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), complete the quick onboarding flow, and start photographing your clothes. Most users build a working wardrobe in their first session. Once you have a few items in, you can start asking your AI stylist for outfit ideas.

Is Kiwi free to use?

Kiwi is currently in early access. Join the waitlist to be among the first to try it. Pricing details will be announced before the public launch.

What devices does Kiwi support?

Kiwi is primarily an iOS app, optimized for iPhone. Android support is available as a secondary target. A web interface is in development.

How is Kiwi different from Pinterest or other style apps?

Pinterest and most style apps show you aspirational content based on other people's wardrobes. Kiwi works exclusively with what you already own. Every suggestion is something you can actually wear today, assembled from your real clothes, informed by your real life.

Can I use Kiwi with a small wardrobe?

Absolutely. Kiwi is designed to get the most out of the wardrobe you have, not to push you to buy more. Even with a modest number of items, your AI stylist can identify combinations you have not considered and help you wear what you own with more confidence.

How does Kiwi handle my photos?

Your wardrobe photos are sent to Google's Gemini API for analysis and then stored securely in Google Cloud Storage. Photos are never publicly accessible. We access them via short-lived signed URLs that expire after 5 minutes. We do not sell your photos or use them to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
